Melissa is passionate about education, digital media, publishing, social media, and marketing.

She currently works as a (temporary) Media Coordinator in the Education Department of Public Broadcasting Service, where she writes descriptions and prepares copyright information and other metadata for educational videos, lesson plans and interactive content. She then uploads these resources to the PBS LearningMedia database. An example of a completed asset can be found here. Melissa’s other professional skills include writing, multimedia editing, blogging, and photography.

A University of Maryland at College Park alumnus, Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and psychology. She was a proud member of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed national community service and leadership fraternity, and served as a team leader for America Reads, a national tutoring program. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys blogging,  reading, being outdoors and exploring the fine arts.
